In recognition of their commitment to teaching and their scholarly and creative contributions, the Ohio Dominican University Board of Trustees has approved the promotions of four faculty members for the 2024-25 academic year. The following promotions of the below individuals took effect July 1, 2024.

Associate Professor of English 鈥 Promoted to Professor (already tenured)

Anna Davis, Ph.D.
Dr. Anna Davis joined Ohio Dominican University in 2005. She received her Ph.D. in
Mathematics in the area of Geometric Topology from the University of Kentucky. In
addition to topology, Dr. Davis is interested in cognitive psychology, connections
between mathematics and art, and effective uses of technology in the classroom. Her
publications reflect her varied interests, as her articles have appeared in mathematics
as well as education journals. Most recently, she has been leading a project related
to the flipped classroom, and enjoys involving students in her research activities.
Kristall Day, Ph.D.
Kristall Day, Ph.D., BCBA, is a Professor in the Division of Education with a specialization
in Special Education. Dr. Day has served as a middle and high school intervention
specialist and has experience teaching children with mild through intensive disabilities.
She currently has licenses in special education, music education, principal grades
5 through 12 and she is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She has also completed
the 2-year LEXIA training for Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling
(LETRS), which is an International Dyslexia Association (IDA) accredited program on
the Science of Reading. Dr. Day's research interests include high-leverage teaching
practices for students with disabilities, formative instructional practices, development
of inclusive teacher preparation programs, and learning strategies for supporting
teacher candidates in writing effective goals.
Natalie Kompa, Ed.D.
Dr. Natalie Kompa has taught Public Relations courses 逗比直播 since 2002. During her
time, she has created several Public Relations and Marketing Communications courses,
including two focused on how to use new technologies in public relations. Dr. Kompa
previously served numerous companies in executive PR management roles, including serving
as a manager in the public affairs department for Borden, Inc. and as vice president
of public relations at Huntington Bancshares, Inc. She formed her own consulting business
in 1997 where she worked with mid- to large-size companies on enhancing their visibility.
Dr. Kompa presents regularly on the effectiveness of public relations and the impact
of the Internet.
Kelsey Squire, Ph.D.
Dr. Kelsey Squire joined ODU in 2012 where she has taught first-year writing, American
Literature and courses for ODU's online M.A. in English program, and serves as ODU's
Core Program director. Dr. Squire's scholarly work focuses on representation of regional
people and places in the late 19th and early 20th-century American literature. She
has served as President of the Reception Study Society, and as a Guest Editor / Editorial
Board member of The Willa Cather Review. Dr. Squire has published in Cather Studies
on Cather鈥檚 novel "The Professor's House," and has conducted research on Cather at
the University of Nebraska and Red Cloud archives as a Woodress Visiting Fellow. She
recently served as co-director of the 69th Annual Willa Cather Spring Conference in
Red Cloud, Nebraska.
