Earn a Certificate or Bachelor's degree in Risk Management & Insurance around your schedule and give your career a boost in Ohio's expanding insurance industry. Insurance companies need to fill a variety of jobs, from entry-level to management. ODU's experienced instructors and industry-specific curriculum prepare you with the knowledge and skills you need for a successful and rewarding career.
Program Highlights
- Classes are all online - each course runs 8 weeks
- Take courses one or two at a time, completing the certificate in 6 or 10 months
- Prior post-secondary education is not required
- Once you complete your certificate, you can put those credits toward an RMI-related associate or bachelor鈥檚 degree
Certificate in RMI Course Requirements
Students complete 15 credits from the courses below to earn the Certificate in Risk
Management & Insurance.
If you have already completed Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) courses,
as many as two of the certificate courses can be waived, giving you a jump start toward
earning your certificate.

- Students with industry credentials may receive academic credit toward their degree. (Based on the American Council on Education鈥檚 College Credit Recommendation Service.)
- Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to waive two of the eight parts of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.
